Social Enterprise with a clear Mission
Our primary mission is to empower and handhold the Indian Artisan through the value chain, create awareness of the crafts, increase demand for crafts and strength the market linkage. We work with artisans, craft-centric organizations, NGO’s engaged with handicrafts, social enterprises and enterprises deploying craftspeople.
Our Company
Creative Haat is a digital marketplace for age old traditional heritage handicrafts of India. We have started this enterprise to promote, showcase and share the creative talent of Indian artisans to the world.
We ensure fair prices that are mutually agreed with our artisans, while we provide support with ideas and help to direct their talent in co-creating products to stay contemporary and relevant to a changing world. Our cost and price models are worked out equitably between us and our artisans.
With over 25 million craftspeople, the crafts sector is the second largest employer in India. These craftspeople or artisans are the backbone of the non-farm rural economy. Many communities in India depend on their craft skills as a source of income and livelihood. We are trying to enable Indian craftworkers and craft organisations to take advantage of economic opportunities in international and domestic markets and also to break into the mainstream retail markets.
Our Team
CREATIVE HAAT is managed by two qualified female entrepreneurs who happen to be engineers with decades of experience in teaching and interests in art and craft. Both have a critical eye of identifying the creative talent and always want to be socially relevant in whatever pursuits they follow.
